Inspired by Dec’26 Good Housekeeping, a tear and share loaf is a fabulous pre-dinner treat or perfect for a light supper in front of the fire. Best enjoyed warm, straight from the oven, serve with your favourite winter tipple of choice. We opted for mulled wine with orange and cinnamon.
Serves 3-4 for supper or 6-8 as a pre-dinner snack.
Preparation time: 10 mins
Ingredients
1 x Sourdough Loaf (Pobl Bakery, Talgarth)
4 x tablespoons Black Mountains Preserves Cranberry Relish
250g Camembert
1 x tablespoon of chopped fresh or dried Sage
1 x tablespoon of dried cranberries
Drizzle of olive oil
Teaspoon of Sea Salt
Method:
Preheat oven to 180.C or 160 Fan or Gas Mark 4.
Slice bread horizontally and vertically to create 2-3 cm squares, being careful not to slice all the way through to the bottom of the loaf.
Evenly spoon the Cranberry Relish into all the gaps and add the chunks of sliced Camembert
Sprinkle with the sea salt, chopped fresh sage, dried cranberries and drizzle with a little olive oil before transferring to a baking tray, lined with greaseproof paper.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and oozy.
Optional, garnish with fresh rosemary, fresh sage and serve with your favourite Winter tipple
